This was created by a mom-daughter pair in early 2020. 'Konora' was training at Pacific Northwest Ballet with a show scheduled to open the weekend the city shutdown. Mom's a dance teacher; the site's content is based on curriculum she created during 20+ years teaching ballet and creative movement.
Once Upon A Dance provides children a joyful form of exercise they can share with their caregivers, fostering a love of reading, dance, and creativity. All content is always free, and we'd love any help spreading the word.
If you want to contribute to one of our favorite organizations, please do so through links below: one that helps foster a kinder world for animals and one that promotes dance.
You don't need anything special to dance. Whatever you feel great in that's comfortable and allows for movement. We recommend skirts be above the knee and pants be above the ankle for safety. Nothing too slippery if you're dancing on hardwood/tile, etc.
The costume Konora wears was designed by Alice Cao, alicelcao.com.

We had a bunch of stuff here about making the world a better place, but that was back in March. Now that it's April and so much of the U.S. is at home.... for now, just try to get through the day, one day at time.
We'll only bother folks once/month-ish, so check back, or follow our facebook (www.facebook.com/OnceUponADanceViralDancing) for new-content updates including weekly story times.
